It is generally a treat to have access to people’s homes, and this town house was a real pleasure – partly because of the design and partly because of the owners’ amazing taste.
Town houses can often be dark, as they are generally much taller than wide and their extensions can be quite deep. However, natural light and attention to detail were the two things that struck Siobhán when she first entered this home in the heart of West London’s Notting Hill.
Playful and curious details were to be found on every floor – from the unexpected, oversized sash window to the rear of the kitchen overlooking a ‘vertical garden’, to the compact home office hidden discreetly behind a wall panel in the basement, and smaller details such as the ballerina lampshades and butterfly doorknobs.
