Edwardian Residential Elevation

Madeira Road

Architects The Vawdrey House describe this residence as ‘A double fronted Edwardian house on a quiet tree lined street in Tunbridge Wells with perfect external proportions, retaining many original features, but with an interior layout that was awkward for modern family life’.

The new design involved adding a three-storey extension to the rear, converting the loft and opening up the entire rear of the ground floor into a single family kitchen/living space. This, plus two single-storey extensions, has provided the owners with seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and an abundance of flexible living space – plus a utility room, downstairs WC and dog room.
